CLYDE KELLY
Hailing from Sanford, NC, Clyde Kelly grew up singing in church choir. His music defies genre boundaries, blending hip-hop, R&B, and pop with lyrics about money, loyalty, mental fortitude, and love.
At school in North Carolina, a combination of freestyling and writing poetry drove his passion for music beyond a hobby. His debut project, Not Rich Yet, racked up over a million streams on Spotify within four months of its release, with no promotional support or major label involvement.
The fan-favorite single, "Magic," was featured on a video blog by Gary Vaynerchuk. The song peaked at #9 on the Spotify Viral 50 chart.
His next two projects, LRx EP (2017) and Side Hustle (2019), debuted in the top 50 of the US iTunes chart in the R&B/Soul and Hip-Hop/Rap genres, respectively.
His most recent project, Broke No More (2021) showcased a more introspective look at the tradeoffs that come with material success.
He co-wrote the platinum single "Black Swan" by BTS, and continues to collaborate as a songwriter with artists across all genres.
Clyde has been profiled in The Daily Pennsylvanian, The Wharton Journal, DJBooth, HipHopDX, and Poets & Quants. He has opened for artists such as T-Pain and Yung Joc, and currently resides in Apex, North Carolina.
